Northwest Service Academy will receive $3.8 million to continue funding for more than 500 AmeriCorps jobs in the Pacific Northwest. The funding comes from the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).

“The Northwest Service Academy has supported thousands of AmeriCorps volunteers over the past 14 years -- volunteers who have dedicated a significant part of their life to serving their community,” said Tim Foley, Executive Director of Northwest Service Academy. “We are thrilled to continue this important work and hope to do more as AmeriCorps grows over the next few years.”

Each year, the Northwest Service Academy supports about 525 full-time and part-time AmeriCorps volunteers throughout Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho, and Wisconsin.  In Southwest Washington the Northwest Service Academy routinely partners with numerous organizations, including Clark County, the City of Vancouver, the Columbia Land Trust, Clark Public Utilities, and local schools to deliver environmental and educational programming implemented by AmeriCorps members.
