STARS: Important Notice
Effective immediately, STARS is no longer accepting SSNs for identification. Each provider must have a STARS Identification Number in order for us to report any training to STARS. Each provider must contact the STARS Registry at 1-800-727-3107 to replace their SSN with a STARS Identification Number as soon as possible.
The STARS program at WAEYC now has the capacity to print Verification Reports (reports of individuals' Registry records with their STARS Training ID number). Please let child care providers know:
- After submitting a Provider Profile Form, within 60 working days, new child care providers are mailed their STARS Training ID and instructions for accessing their Registry record. If a provider does not have access to the Internet, they can contact us for a copy of their record.
- Child care providers, with records in the Registry, may call 253-854-2565x17 or 800-727-3107 to get their STARS Training ID number.
- The 3,045 child care providers who submitted a Provider Profile Form between October 19, 2002 and June 10, 2003 are being mailed a Verification Report with their STARS Training ID number.
- Child care providers who submitted a Provider Profile Form prior to October 19, 2002 were mailed a Verification Report in November 2002 from DSHS.
STARS approved trainers and training organizations should use the Training Completion Report Form dated 4/2003 and discard older versions. To download the form, go to www.waeyc.org. Click on Washington STARS, and then on Trainers & Organizations. Look under "Frequently Used Forms."
