Constructability Review Services
CSG has provided constructability reviews on over $270,000,000 in K-12 public school construction projects in recent years. Most of those projects were recipients of Washington State funding assistance through OSPI.
CSG maintains a staff of 12 highly-qualified professionals with extensive backgrounds in construction, design, and engineering. CSG also maintains a consulting relationship with special design and construction disciplines to facilitate creation of constructability teams customized to meet a school district's individual project needs.
As a non-profit program of ESD 112, CSG can offer its services at competitive rates. Because CSG provides services only for public school districts, we have a unique body of knowledge about school buildings that surpasses most other entities. We have a heightened awareness of construction problems that are unique to school buildings and school sites. For instance, we are aware of the need to maintain the educational functions of schools while they are being modernized. Therefore, we pay special attention to the phasing of construction to make sure that the instructional process is interrupted as little as possible during construction.
We are aware of the many regulatory constraints that impact school design and construction. This knowledge benefits the school district by making us more sensitive to recognizing design elements that might be in conflict with local rules. A design that violates local regulations can be delayed during the permitting or construction phases and becomes a target for contractor claims.
