Willapa Valley Mid/High School

CSG provided Project Management and Building Commissioning services on this project.  The project consisted of demolition of the existing high school and replacing with a new facility and modernizing the middle school.   The community spaces and shared spaces are in the center of the building.  The middle school and high school teaching wings are separated, but easily accessible to the shared space.  The buildings have high efficiency split system heat pumps and lighting controlled motion sensors.  Natural light is provided by using large classroom windows and clerestory windows in the commons, library and gym.

The new floors feature a design that represents the Willapa Valley with the Willapa River and creeks running through it.  The entry includes a memorial wall which recognizes all students who served in the armed forces.  The trophy display cases from the old high school were salvaged are installed in the commons area and the center court and wood beams were salvaged from the old gym and reused in the entry to the new gym.  The student capacity for the high school is 250 and the middle school has a capacity of 150 students.  The new gym will seat 580 people.
