Youth workforce program shows students the path to college

ESD 112’s Youth Workforce Program, in partnership with Clark College, recently held a class to teach students how they can get into college. The course explained the process of utilizing various financial aid resources. Through this, students learned how to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

“It’s a very positive step because many of these students never considered themselves college-bound until they entered our program and received career and academic help,” says Gail Spolar, director of workforce development and truancy programs. “Then we bring in Clark College, and staff members show them how they can get the money to actually go to college,” continued Spolar.
