Community invited to join Earth Day celebration

CASEE (Center for Agriculture, Science and Environmental Education) and Northwest Service Academy, a program of Educational Service District (ESD) 112 are hosting a fun, family-oriented Vancouver Earth Day celebration Saturday, April 16, 2005 from 12-4:00 p.m.

The event, themed "Celebrating 35 Years of Connecting the Community with the Environment," is free and open to the public.

EVENT INFORMATION :

Children's Fishing Derby - Children of all ages will get "hooked" on our fishing derby! They'll get to learn about fish and their habitats while participating in a hands-on "catch and release" activity at the CASEE pond.

Environmental Information Fair - Representatives from local organizations will provide activities, information and resources about our area and what we can all do to keep it magnificent. Learn how to reuse food waste and yard debris to keep your garden beautiful or explore simple energy conservation that may cut the cost of your next electric bill!

Arts & Crafts - Get creative with many earth-friendly, hands-on arts & crafts such as papermaking with recycled materials or creating fish prints.  

Live Music - Musical guests will take the stage throughout the day, including Buttercup Bill who will have songs and activities for the little ones!   Dancing is encouraged!

CASEE Center tours - Curious about solar energy, bee keeping or plants unique to the Pacific Northwest? Come check out what we are doing at CASEE! We have greenhouses where you can pick up garden tips, a pond that kids love to explore and even some chickens and turkeys who love to strut their stuff!
