Becky Mohagen receives the 'Workforce Friendly Educator' award
Becky Mohagen, GAP specialist in CYFS school programs, has been chosen by the Southwest Washington Workforce Development Council (SWWDC) as one of three recipients of the “Workforce Friendly Educator” award. This award recognizes high school teachers and staff who have gone above and beyond in helping youth prepare for post-secondary career success.
“It’s a great honor to receive an award for doing something I truly love. It’s not like going to work for me, these kids are the best and so is the staff I work with. Thanks so much for the award,” said Mohagen.
In a letter from the Southwest Washington Youth Council Chair Kay Dalke, Becky was selected based on her knowledge of workforce education issues and resources including the Youth Workforce Program and the local WorkSource Center. Her passion, commitment and skill at keeping disenfranchised youth engaged in their education were other key factors.
Becky was nominated by Ryan Blodgett, ESD 112 youth workforce specialist. Several other youth council members provided first hand accounts of her outstanding service to youth as well. She was awarded at the SWWDC’s board meeting on March 12 at ESD 112.
