Washington State Tobacco Prevention and Control Program

Audience:

All School Districts in the ESD 112 region.

The Tobacco Prevention Program at ESD 112 is closely integrated with the Safe and Drug Free Schools and Washington State Substance Abuse Awareness Prevention and Intervention programs. The Tobacco Program is supported by tobacco settlement funds. Those funds are targeted to provide primary tobacco prevention and early intervention for students in grades 5-9.

ESD 112 has developed implementation plans with its 30 school districts and the Washington State Department of Health that incorporates best practices and guidelines for school-based tobacco prevention and intervention. School districts prepare a plan and receive resources to implement that plan for their district. Resources provided by ESD 112 may include:
