The ESD 112 Regional Autism Consulting Cadre is a group of concerned, interested professional educators and parents seeking to enhance their base of knowledge regarding persons with Autism. Further, the cadre will develop and support the dissemination of best practice information through meaningful consultation to and collaboration with school districts in the ESD 112 region.

Autism 101 (#1 of 6)
This session is designed for the person wanting a better understanding of autism. The session will include the characteristics of autism, dispelling the myths of autism, current research information about autism and a brief overview of best practice strategies and methodologies.
FBA/Positive Behavior Supports (#2 of 6)
The first part of this session will give the participant a good overview of an FBA related to the characteristics of autism. The second part of this session will demonstrate how to develop a PBS plan and examples.
Sensory Processing (#3 of 6)
This session will give the participant an understanding of what sensory processing dysfunction is, how it might affect an individual with autism, what a sensory inventory could do to help identify sensory needs and potential strategies to help.
Socialization, Social Stories (#4 of 6)
One of the characteristics of autism is the inability to socialize and/or be socially appropriate. Social Stories is an effective strategy that gives the individual who experiences autism the information on the whys, what to dos and the hows to be socially appropriate.
Discrete Trial Training (#5 of 6)
This session gives an overview of what ABA, DTT and PRT are and why they are considered best practices strategies in teaching individuals with autism.
Transition Over the Years (#6 of 6)
In this class participants will learn about preparing for transition over the years, and life after entitled school education.
