Early Intervention Program
Child and Family Services:
Educational Service District 112 offers early intervention services to families residing in the Ridgefield, La Center, Hockinson, Evergreen, and Washougal School Districts. Our Early Intervention staff is experienced in working with families with young children. The partnerships created between the family and interventionists are valued. This relationship maximizes the child's development and potential throughout his/her life. Services occur in natural environments (that is, where the child lives, learns, and plays). This intervention embraces the entire family.
Through an evaluation process that includes:
- the family
- the speech therapist
- the motor therapist, and
- the education specialist
The child's eligibility for intervention and program needs is determined. A team of qualified professionals works in partnership with parents to design and implement a program that is individual to each child and family. Parental expectations and ideas are primary to the program development and implementation.
Services may be provided in:
- the home
- childcare
- the community, or
- other immediate environments natural to the child and family.
Focusing on the child's abilities within these familiar environments provides more opportunities for practice and generalization of skills, and involves parents as the primary caregivers.
ESD 112's Birth-to-Three Early Intervention Program also offers family resource coordination services, and an early education lending library.
