Teachers, faculty members, parents and community members please join us on September 20th in celebrating the new school year and learning about important substance abuse prevention tools for building youth resilience. We will kick-off the event with an overview of Prevent Coalition’s mission, vision and projects as well as welcome our new staff members and enjoy a presentation on Friend 2 Friend Cannabis Conversations presented by STASHA, a nonjudgmental substance abuse prevention peer group made up of youth ages 12-19.

This event is open to the public and no registration is required. Light refreshments will be provided.

Building resilience is a fundamental life skill that teaches young people how to cope and adapt to adversity, trauma and significant sources of stress. A primary factor in resilience is having caring and supportive relationships within and outside the family that create love and trust, provide role models and offer encouragement and reassurance. By teaching and modeling resilience, young people can learn to cope, adapt and thrive when facing challenges or significant stress throughout their lifetime.
