Students today are exposed to more media than ever before. They’re influenced by strangers, targeted for advertising, and told what to believe about themselves and the world–sometimes so subtly that they can’t even tell they’re getting unreliable information. How do they know what’s fake and what’s real? Not just for librarians – students need to apply critical thinking skills to material in every subject area, and this class will give you the tools. Teachers will leave with online resources and technology-enhanced lesson frameworks adaptable to teaching media literacy in their subject area in grades 4-10.
