About Quest

About Quest Academy

Quest Academy, opened Fall, 2016, providing a supportive and highly therapeutic learning environment for students with varying degrees of cognition who need behavioral interventions and support. At the request of the Cowlitz County Districts, (Castle Rock, Kelso, Longview and the Woodland School Districts) ESD 112 moved forward to develop and operate the day treatment therapeutic school program.

Our staff is a very dynamic group of highly skilled professionals in the areas of education, communication, and behavioral health. Certificated special education teachers along with specially trained support staff work closely with students’ schools and families to maximize academic achievement. We spend hours as a Professional Learning Community reviewing student progress and building plans for their continued success.

We believe a program must focus on the whole child and provide:

  • Specialized services that develop students emotionally, academically and socially
  • Therapeutic services sufficient to teach lagging skills
  • Multiple options for family involvement
  • Community social services support

Our Mission

Quest Academy’s mission is to support all Cowlitz County students in achieving their highest educational and personal potential and to prepare them to contribute as successful citizens of a diverse, multi-cultural community.

Who We Serve

Who We Serve

A program of Educational Service District 112, we provide supports to an exclusive Cowlitz County student population of kindergarten through twelfth-graders. Our students have varying degrees of cognition, yet all share a common need for behavioral interventions and supports within a therapeutic environment. We believe when schools and parents work as partners within a child’s educational plan, the likelihood of healthy outcomes greatly increases.

Our Goals

  • To help students achieve academic success
  • To help students gain the skills necessary to build strong interpersonal skills and healthy peer relationships
  • To transition students back into their neighborhood school where they can successfully access all aspects of a comprehensive school

“We are thrilled to be able to provide this level of support for students in Cowlitz County. The setting and program model at the Quest Academy will help ensure greater success for these students.”

Glenn Gelbrich, Former Kelso Superintendent

Student Entry Guide

Student Entry Guide

Quest does not have open enrollment, but rather students access us through a process hosted by the school where the child currently attends. Students identified for the program will receive support and assistance designed to help them improve their academic and social skills, develop more appropriate behavioral controls and increase self-esteem.
