Below you will find some timely opportunities and ways to connect while working from home and developing virtual teaching plans.

Beyond these resources, everyone on the STEM/Career Connected Learning Team is committed to supporting you through this time. STEM/Aerial Robotics Virtual PLC webinar

Randy Steele with FIRST WA will be offering weekly virtual STEM/Aerial Robotics PLC sessions. Beginning tonight at 6:30pm, and continuing each Monday until April 20, we will hold a Go-To-Meeting Webinar to answer questions around:
  • Elementary STEM Robotics, including WeDo 2.0 and the new EV3/chromebook Elementary STEM Robotics curricula
  • CTE STEM Robotics 101, including the new CTE Lab Science Course Equivalency

Beyond the Worksheet Packet - Adaptable Ideas for PBL in Remote Learning

We know many of you are deeply involved in implementing project-based and problem-oriented learning in your classrooms. This blog has ideas on how to keep the momentum going while in a closure.

Lemonopolis! (Entrepreneurship, Math, ELA and 21st Century Skills for Grades 3-5)

Lemonopolis an online, interactive version of the Lemonade Day program. A virtual world where youth learn everything they need to know about starting, owning, and operating their own business -a lemonade stand. Here is a two minute video/overview of Lemonopolis. The program contains 15 lessons in the tutorial through 4 modules (Set a Goal, Make a Plan, Work the Plan and Achieve Your dreams. Each lesson includes an introductory video and one to three interactions, Action Steps for Lemonade Day preparations and a points achievement system.

The Greater Vancouver Chamber of Commerce will be providing an offline companion called My Journal providing students and families with a place to record their Business Plan, results and reflections throughout their Lemonade Day Experience. It appears similar to the Guide. This program is targeted towards third through fifth grades.

Each lesson in Lemonopolis can be completed within 10-20 minutes. The Work the Plan module will take additional time as it encourages real world activities in preparation for Lemonade Day.

How Will Kids Access Lemonopolis?

To get started, students will register for Lemonade Day on the LemonadeDay.org/Greater-Vancouver website. After completed registration kiddos will have immediate access to Lemonopolis. They will Login to Lemonopolis by visiting mylemonadeday.org and use the username and password that you are provided upon registration. REGISTRATION WILL BE READY IN APPROXIMATELY ONE WEEK.
