Registration is Open for Upcoming Trainings
We are offering two threat assessment training courses for the current school year. The first is on January 29, 2024 (virtual). The other is on April 26, 2024 (in person at the ESD conference center). Registration is available on pdEnroller. If you can't attend, we are happy to conduct a training in your district. Contact Don Lawry to arrange it!

ESD112 is Bolstering Behavioral Health Supports for Students
|
Thanks to federal funding through the Project AWARE grant, we're able to expand integrated behavioral health services in schools! This grant allows us to extend our reach as a licensed behavioral health agency, recognized by the Washington State Department of Health (DOH). This expansion enables our behavioral health professionals to offer vital treatment services to students, covering prevention of substance use disorders, early interventions for mental health and substance use issues, screening, assessments, outpatient treatments like counseling, and referrals. With the current grant iteration, we've embedded more therapists in schools, addressing critical needs in areas where accessing services can be challenging for students. JED in High Schools
|
Forefront Suicide Prevention is expanding mental health technical assistance to high schools in Washington state through a new collaboration with The Jed Foundation. The Jed Foundation (JED) is a non-profit organization that helps to protect emotional health and prevent suicide for our nation’s teens and young adults, and we are thrilled to launch JED High School delivered by Forefront. Through this multi-year partnership, Forefront in the Schools staff (FIS), will be trained to implement JED High School, free of charge, to a select number of High Schools across Washington State.

Participating schools will gain access to the JED Comprehensive Approach to Mental Health Promotion & Suicide Prevention for High Schools and JED High School, a three-year technical assistance program through which JED helps schools implement the Comprehensive Approach. This includes data collection, evaluation, and consistent strategic support from a Forefront School Mental Health Specialist over the course of three years.

Due to the time-limited funding, schools can join JED High School, delivered by Forefront, for a January 2024 start by executing service agreements before December 2023 concludes. Please reach out to your Behavioral Health Navigator if you are interested in being a cohort for JED in high schools.
