FlashAlert Phone App

ESD 112’s Early Care and Education centers use FlashAlert, an Internet-based system, for delivering news and emergency closures or other information regarding our centers. As we head into the winter months and the potential for unpredictable weather, the FlashAlert app is a great way to stay up-to-date on any emergency or weather-related closures or changes to our center operating hours. This free iOS/Android app, FlashAlert Messenger, allows you to receive emergency messages through Push Notification.

Download the FlashAlert App

Follow these simple steps to get started:

  1. Go to www.flashalert.net/id/ece and enter your email address to start the subscription.
  2. Using the app store on your phone, download and install the free FlashAlert Messenger app that looks like the icon to the right.
  3. Enter the email address and password you used in step 1 and the app will link to it. The app may ask permission to send you push notifications. That’s it!
  4. If you need to make changes to your account or add other schools or organizations, go to https://www.flashalert.net/login/.

All addresses registered on FlashAlert will remain confidential. Once a year, you will receive an email at your registered email address asking if you wish to continue your subscription.

All notifications about our child care centers in Clark County will come from “Early Care & Ed – ECE @ ESD 112” so make sure you are signed up for this alert if you attend one of these centers.

Frequently Asked Questions

We strive to notify families as soon as we receive notice from the school district.  In most cases, we will post updates by 6:30 a.m.  However, we encourage families to check Flash Alert for updates, as sometimes updates come later in the day.

From our parent handbook:

Families will not be charged for full closure days.

If a school district or an elementary school closes for any reason, all ECE centers that operate within that district will also be required to close for the day. We will follow the district’s requirements for closing during late starts and early releases due to inclement weather and other emergency related events. If the district announces a late start, our ECE full day centers in that district will open at the same time as the districts early start elementary schools. If the district announces an early release, our ECE full day centers will close at the same time as the districts late start elementary  schools. If the district announces a late start, all morning care will be canceled at the school age centers in the district. If the district announces an early release, afternoon care will be canceled at the school age centers in the district.

If a child care center is operating full day and closes early due an emergency, families will be credited back a half day’s tuition if the center closed prior to five hours after scheduled opening hours. If the center closes after the five hours, full day tuition will be charged to families scheduled to attend.

You can see emergency alerts and news releases online by visiting www.flashalert.net/id/ece.

Yes. Not all Flash Alert subscriptions are automatically renewed annually. Because of this, we recommend that all families go to www.flashalert.net/id/ece to verify that their account is active and subscribed to ESD 112’s Early Care and Education Centers.
