FlashAlert Phone App

ESD 112’s Early Care and Education centers use FlashAlert, an Internet-based system for delivering news and emergency closures or other information. As we head into the winter months and more unpredictable weather, this easy to use app is a great way to stay up-to-date on any emergency or weather-related incidents that may affect our centers.

Now, a free app is available for you to receive important messages. (If we are in lock-down; if the agency is closed due to hazardous weather, etc.) This free iOS/Android app, FlashAlert Messenger, lets you receive emergency messages through Push Notification.

Download the FlashAlert App

Follow these simple steps to get started:

  1. Go to www.flashalert.net/id/ece and enter your email address to start the subscription.
  2. Using the app store on your phone, download and install the free FlashAlert Messenger app that looks like the icon to the right.
  3. Enter the email address and password you used in step 1 and the app will link to it. The app may ask permission to send you push notifications. That’s it!
  4. If you need to make changes to your account or add other schools or organizations, go to https://www.flashalert.net/login/.

All addresses registered on FlashAlert will remain confidential. Once a year, you will receive an email at your registered email address asking if you wish to continue your subscription.

All notifications for our Centers will come from “Early Care & Ed – ECE @ ESD 112.

Frequently Asked Questions

FlashAlert is moving away from text messages, which need to be accepted into your carrier’s text message channel and screened for spam. During crunches, cell companies have taken an hour or longer to deliver some messages. Push notification, on the other hand, travels a non-stop path from FlashAlert to the app on your phone. And the app will allow you to see all of the recent news posted in your region.

You can see emergency alerts and news releases online by visiting www.flashalert.net/id/ece.

Yes. Not all Flash Alert subscriptions are automatically renewed annually. Because of this, we recommend that all families go to www.flashalert.net/id/ece to verify that their account is active and subscribed to ESD 112’s Early Care and Education Centers.

Any school district closure will also mean a closure for the corresponding ESD 112 Early Care and Education Center. Therefore, it is really important that you know which school district your center resides in so that you understand the flash alert information that we send out. We have included a chart that identifies which school district each center is in as well as what to do in event of a late start. Please contact your Center Director with any questions.
