This three-part professional learning series will explore high leverage practices that build resilience. Resources and tools to support educators in working with their students will be discussed and shared. By the end of the series, participants will be equipped with a variety of tools and interconnected strategies that support a resilient, inclusive classroom and school community.

Open to all who work in K-12 schools within the ESD 112 region

Objectives

  • Examine high leverage practices supporting resilience; emphasizing preventative & universal strategies
  • Understand impact of trauma and chronic stress on the brain
  • Build connections between MTSS & SEL
  • Explore and utilize implementation ready resources/tools

September 16th – Welcome & Building The Foundation For Our Work
Brain basics, trauma defined, and how trauma and chronic stress impact the brain

September 23rd – Resilience Strategies Part 1
Examine preventative resilience strategies that support all students

September 30th – Resilience Strategies Part 2 and Conclusion
A continuation of resilience strategies and tools that can be readily implemented in the school and classroom
