About Community-Based Prevention

ESD 112 is the fiscal agent and convener for eleven different substance abuse prevention coalitions serving unique communities within the ESD 112 Region. The coalitions are comprised of community members and organizations working together towards a common goal of building a safe, healthy and drug free community. Most coalitions in our region partner with a Student Assistance Professional assigned to the middle or high school.

Applications are open for ESD-U’s 2026-27 cohort! ESD-U provides aspiring educators an efficient alternative pathway to teacher certification in order to serve the varying needs of the students and districts in our service area, centering the values of diversity, equity and inclusion, and focusing on practical, hands-on experience in classrooms.

Interested in learning more? ESD-U is offering free virtual information sessions on Zoom over the next four months. Attendees will learn about the application process, program structure, and funding opportunities for qualified candidates.

The ESD-U priority deadline is April 12, 2026 and the PEP priority deadline is May 10, 2026.
