Education for Parents. Success for Children.

Program Details

Welcome to Parent U

Parent U is an ESD 112 program designed especially for parents of children from birth through high school.  Our mission is to help parents learn important information from experts who can provide guidance and resources they need to keep their children safe, healthy and engaged in school.

What we Currently Offer

The Parent U program at ESD 112 currently offers a series of five videos on the topic of Internet Safety that will…

  • Guide parents through their child’s developmental years;
  • Answer parents’ questions about their children’s school and personal experiences; and
  • Support parents as they seek ways to keep their children safe, healthy and in school.
Internet Safety Video Series

This series consists of five professionally-produced videos for parents to provide an overview of the Internet and the ways in which our children are using it. Parents will learn about social media, cyber-bullying, sexting and more, and will gain insights and ideas on how to talk to their children about staying safe on line.

Keeping our children safe on the Internet

The Internet is a wonderful resource that provides our children with research material for the learning projects they are assigned at school. At the same time, it poses unknown dangers to them as they explore web sites and share information on social networks. These online videos will help parents understand the importance of paying attention to what their children are doing on the Internet when they are using computers, cell phones, tablets and even gaming consoles. Parents will also receive guidance about setting “ground rules” with their children on using devices online.

“Evergreen Public Schools is thrilled to provide our families access to the Parent U Internet Safety video series made available through ESD112. This outstanding five-part series provides timely information and recommendations to students, staff and parents about mobile apps and devices, the dangers of cyberbullying and sexting, as well as the straight scoop regarding the permanence of digital footprints. The video series is affordably priced for our district and has plenty of flexibility for use, which will allow Evergreen to ensure everyone in our community has access to this valuable content free-of-charge.”
