Educational Service District 112 strives to foster institutional equity, diversity and inclusion within our agency by creating educational opportunities, raising awareness and providing strategies and tools to bring to life the vision of inclusive excellence in the schools we serve, on our campus and throughout our community. In some of our email signatures, you may see personal pronouns such as she/her, he/him and they/their.

Including pronouns is intended to respect people’s gender identity, work against cisnormativity (the assumption that a person’s gender identity matches their biological sex), and create a more welcoming space for people of all genders. While the majority of people utilize the pronoun sets “he/him” or “she/her,” some prefer to utilize “they/them” pronouns or another pronoun set for a variety of reasons. If someone shares their pronouns with you, it’s meant to provide you with the information you need in order to refer to them appropriately.
