After learning about various renewable energy sources in their Unique Learning Systems lesson, students from Dayton Elementary and Junior High’s Life Skills class got to visit the Tucannon River Wind Farm in April.

Kyler Lovgren, husband of Life Skills teacher, Brooke Lovgren, works at the farm and was able to introduce the students to how wind energy works and show them around the facility. After completing a training on wind tower safety, the students were able to even go into one of the towers!

Brooke Lovgren is an employee of ESD 112 teaching Special Education in the Dayton School District in Eastern Washington. Dayton is outside the ESD 112 region, but it contracts for Specialized Services through ESD 112.
